Three exams are planned.
- The first will will have an analytical focus and utilize SPSS. For the SPSS exam the data file needed will be provided.
- The second will focus on conceptual information.
- The final exam is comprehensive and will consist of a set of multiple choice format items.

- How to do error checks and deal with problems in data
- How to provide variable names, variable labels, and value labels
- Percentages (crosstabs, frequency distribution tables)
- Central Tendency & Variability (stats under frequencies menu, compare means menu)
- Percentiles & Percentile Ranks
- Correlation: PPMC, Phi, Kendall's Tau, Cramer's V
- Prediction
- Graphs: Bar Charts, Histograms, Scattergrams
- Validity, Reliability, & Objectivity of Scores
- SEE, SEM
- Manipulating Data
- Recode
- Select Cases; split file
- Compute New Variables
Note: Important to fully understand how to select appropriate statistics based on the level of measurement.
